It was in the year 1997, Deepa Sahi featured in the film 'Aar Ya Paar'. And now, she will be back on the silver screen again. In the forthcoming movie 'Manjhi The Mountain Man', Deepa Sahi will be seen portraying the former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. For preparing for the role, the 49-year old Sahi watched some videos in order to understand the mannerisms and body language of Mrs. Gandhi.
The news update was confirmed by Deepa Sahi as she stated "Yes, I am playing Indira Gandhi, it' a cameo. I've always been fascinated by her and I am sure everyone would want to play her on screen."
Deepa desired to make a movie on the first woman Indian Prime Minister. Talking about it, she revealed "M J Akbar and I had once toyed with the idea to make a film on Mrs Gandhi. However, considering the legal issues in our country, I don't think the project will ever materialize. But given an opportunity, I'd love to make a full-length film on her and play the part myself."
'Manjhi The Mountain Man' has its roots dipped in the true story of Dashrath Majhi, famously known as Mountain Man.
