Intense scenes in Padmavati make Deepika & Ranveer strain mentally!

Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s magnum opus Padmavati has been the most talked about film this year. Fans are eagerly waiting for the film and now after the release of the three-character posters of the lead stars, everyone cannot stop going gaga over it! And why not? The flawlessly carved characters and their jaw-dropping first look posters deserve all the attention and praise. The director is known to be a perfectionist and goes an extra mile for his films.

Padmavati is a fictional historical drama which has some extremely difficult scenes to pull off both mentally and physically. Not just the war scenes but the emotional scenes were equally difficult to pull off. All the lead stars including Deepika Padukone , Ranveer Singh , and Shahid Kapoor have simultaneously admitted the fact that working on the film has not been easy and has been a challenging experience.

A source told the agency, "It is not easy to play a character who has to commit suicide, or Jauhar, as it is called. And when one is working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, he wants one to feel committed and feel the character all the time. Sanjay takes his time to shoot every sequence. The build-up to the Jauhar scene and the scene itself was rather elaborate. Deepika has already spoken about clinical depression earlier in her career. Hence, she does not want to do anything that will take her back to that space."

Also, as per the reports, Ranveer Singh had to see a psychiatrist as he got way too immersed in his character of Allaudin Khilji. His reactions and behavior witnessed changes. If sources are to be believed, the actor apparently locked himself up in his apartment and spent time memorizing the script and dialogues. This made it difficult was him to get out of the dark character space.

In the film, Ranveer essays the character of Alauddin Khilji, while Shahid Kapoor plays Raja Rawal Ratan Singh of Mewar. Deepika Padukone portrays the title role of and Rani Padmini of Chittorgarh. Actress Aditi Rao Hydari plays Khilji's favourite wife in the movie. Bhansali’s upcoming historical drama Padmavati is set to release on December 1, 2017.
