Though the year 2017 saw only a few super-hits, it surely proved a successful period for the small budgeted films. Kriti Sanon is one of those actors who achieved huge success with their small-budgeted movies. Her film ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ thug the right chord with the audience and it won’t be an exaggeration to say that it will be remembered as one of Kriti’s best works. After BKB, the 27-year-old actress is flooded with many film offers. Her quirky and small town role in BKB grabbed the attention of filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, who now has approached Kriti to work in his upcoming film. Initially, Kriti was to star alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Bhardwaj's ‘Padeeu’ but things did not work out then and Bhardwaj shelved the project. However, now it is believed that Bhardwaj has approached the actress to be a part of ‘Churiya’, which will be a sibling rivalry story and Kriti will play the role of the younger sibling.
A source informed a tabloid, "The film is set in a small town of Rajasthan, where fights between two sisters can get ugly, and physically and verbally abusive. The word, Churiya can have two meanings; here it refers to girls who can be as sharp as knives. Vishal and Kriti have been meeting regularly for the past few weeks. Kriti has also started taking workshops to up her act. She has almost been finalised for the part of the younger sister."
‘Churiya’ will be about two sisters. As makers are looking forward to casting Kriti as a younger sister, the hunt for elder one is still on. The source further added, "Vishal approached many actors, including Parineeti Chopra, Bhumi Pednekar, Sonakshi Sinha and Shraddha Kapoor, for the part of the older sister. He even made them deliver screen tests. He is yet to arrive at a name."
