‘Padmaavat’s paid previews to be held on 24th January, a day prior to its official release!

Starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, Padmaavat is surely one of the hotly anticipated films of 2018. A series of controversies around the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial has piqued the curiosity of the audience manifold as everyone wants to know what is there in the film which led to so much of hue and cry in the past few months. Cinegoers are just waiting to watch the film as soon as it hits screens on 25th January. But if you cannot wait till 25th January, you can watch Padmaavat in advance on 24th January. Yes, the makers of the historical saga have decided to hold paid previews of the movie in many theatres across the country. However, the official release date of the film remains the same i.e. 25th January.

A leading tabloid quotes Manoj Desai, owner of G7 multiplex in Mumbai, as saying, “While Pad Man releases on January 25, Padmaavat will release the night before. The distributors of Padmaavat are likely to reimburse the film that is scheduled for the 9.30 pm show that day and screen the magnum opus instead. There will be only one paid preview. This will happen not just in my theatres but across India.”

This is not the first time when a filmmaker has opted for a paid preview of his film. In the past also, makers of films like Don: The Chase Begins Again, Wake Up Sid, Ghajini, 3 Idiots and Raees, to name just a few, have organized paid previews of their films.
