Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon approached for the Indian version of Dirty Dancing?
Reportedly, the project was first offered to Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani but due to their busy schedules, it went to Sushant and Kriti.
Actors Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon have some exciting projects lined up, but that’s not stopping filmmakers from approaching them for new offers. Now, it’s been learned that the two are leading contenders for the Indian remake of a Hollywood project. It is going to be a dance film that is a remake of 1987 cult movie, Dirty Dancing. Lionsgate Television, that produced a television series by the same name in 2017, is keen on making an Indian version with the same storyline.
A source close to the development reveals to a tabloid, “The script is currently being reworked to suit Bollywood audiences. The premise of how a girl develops a crush on her father’s resort dance instructor will remain the same. Considering Sushant and Kriti are skilled dancers, they are currently the top contenders for the lead roles.”
The report in the popular tabloid says that before approaching Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon, the makers had gone to Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani. But the duo turned down the offer because of their hectic schedule. While Tiger has just begun shooting for Karan Johar's Student of the Year 2 and then he has a YRF film with Hrithik Roshan, Baaghi 3 with Sajid Nadiadwala and Rambo with Siddharth Anand, Disha will start shooting for the period drama, Sanghamitra.
