Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’s director is all set to make a movie on ‘Surrogacy’!
After ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, director Shree Narayan Singh will collaborate with KriArj Entertainment for a women-centric film, ‘Jasmine’.
After collaborating successfully with KriArj Entertainment on Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, director Shree Narayan Singh is all set to join hands again with Prernaa Arora’s team. The team’s last venture was critically and commercially successful with a strong social message. Shree Narayan is again coming up with another social-issue based drama. The director’s next production will be a women-centric film based on surrogacy, titled, ‘Jasmine – Story of a leased womb’. Speaking on the collaboration, Shree Narayan said, “Very happy to collaborate with KriArj once again. I have always wanted to work on women-centric film and finally, I am able to do so.”
Set in the 90’s, in the vibrant and rustic Gujarat, ‘Jasmine’ revolves around the journey of a girl to motherhood and what happens when a mother falls in love with a child who’s not even her. The movie has been written by noted Hindi film writers Siddharth and Garima. ‘Jasmine’ will only be co-produced by Shree Narayan; it will be helmed by a new director. As the story is unique in its own ways it took 3 years for the writers to come up with this concept.
Produced by KriArj Entertainment and Mukambika Pictures, the film will go on floors in 2018. Meanwhile, Shree Narayan is busy with his next directorial, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ which stars Shahid Kapoor in the lead.
