Sriram Raghavan 's dark revenge drama ' Badlapur ' had set high expectations due to the vigorous promotions. Considering the same, the film saw a respective good opening of 7 crores (approximately) on the very first Friday. The morning shows had an average occupancy while it picked up in the later part of the day.
' Badlapur ' proved to be the third largest opening film of 2015 after Akshay Kumar starrer ' Baby ' and Ranbir Kapoor 's ' Roy '. The film has received good reviews from the critics as well as the audiences and the numbers are further expected to improve. The film's revenue may get affected on Sunday due to the Cricket World Cup Match set for that day. Over all the film performed well in urban cities.
The revenge tale -' Badlapur ' featured the darker side of the usual happy Varun Dhawan . The film also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a negative role. Huma Qureshi , Yami Gautam , Radhika Apte , Divya Dutta essay the supporting characters in the movie.
