Raja Krishna Menon’s directorial Chef which is the adaptation of the Hollywood film of the same name features Saif Ali Khan in the lead. The film garnered mixed reviews from the critics as well as the audience. Chef witnessed a surprisingly slow start at the box-office and the numbers did not improve over the weekend. This may prove to be a very disappointing outing for the makers. The slice of life drama also stars Svar Kamble, Padmapriya, and Chandan Roy Sanyal.
The movie made Rs. 1.05 crores on its opening Friday which is a very slow start. It further made Rs. 1.35 crores on Saturday and Rs. 1.60 crores on Sunday. Hence, the total first-weekend collection stands at Rs. 4 crores, which is extremely low for a film which had created a decent pre-release buzz. Judwaa 2 which was last week's release maintained to dominate the theatres giving tough competition to Chef.
Directed by Airlift fame, Raja Krishna Menon, Chef is about a man who leaves his steady job for his son and to follow his passion for cooking, starts a food truck. The movie has been shot in like Mumbai, Delhi, Kerala, Goa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat among other places. You can read the review by BollywoodMDB to get insights about the film.
