Raja Krishna Menon denies signing Ranbir or anyone else in his next!
The film belongs to the thriller space and is expected to begin rolling mid next year.
Recently, there were reports that after a lukewarm response to his last release Chef, starring superstar Saif Ali Khan and Padmapriya Janakiraman, filmmaker Raja Krishna Menon has started work on his next film which is a thriller. While reports of him beginning work on his next are true, what has vexed the director is the news that he has roped in superstar Ranbir Kapoor to play the lead role in the movie. Rubbishing all such reports, Menon said, “My script is ready, it's a drama in the thriller space, but I haven't met Ranbir or even had a chat with him.”
The director further added, “I don't know why people are making up stories. Hopefully, in the next three-four weeks, I will know who fits the script."
The director said that he wanted to meet Ranbir after the release of Chef. "But that didn't work out because he got busy and so did I. He is a fantastic actor and at some point, I would like to collaborate with him but there are no immediate plans at the moment," Menon said.
To be shot across multiple countries, Raja’s film is expected to mount floors in mid-2018. "We're looking to start shooting mid-next year as I need six months of prep. I should lock the actor by December," said the director.
