Juhi Chawla

A descent woman with the most beautiful smile in the world , Juhi Chawla is a bubbly yet sophisticated and a sweet lady in the tinsel town. Born on 13th November 1967 in Ambala Haryana, Juhi is married to the businessman Jai Mehta. The couple has two children named as Jhanvi and Arjun. Juhi is a beauty queen who has won many titles in the beauty pageants. She was the winner of the 1984 Miss India competition. In the same year she was a winner of the best costume award in the prestigious Miss Universe Contest. Juhi is a multitalented actress. She is a very well trained classical singer and a very good dancer too. She has learnt Kathak for three years. The charming beauty Juhi, and her husband Jai are the co-owners of the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders with Shah Rukh Khan in a partnership.

Juhi comes from a very elite and sophisticated background. Her father Dr.S. Chawla is a Punjabi and her mother Mona was a Gujarati. So Juhi comes from a mixed background. She has a brother named as Sajeev. Juhi was born and brought up in Ludhiana. She did her schooling in Ludhiana and later shifted to Mumbai for further studies. She got a degree in HR management from the prestigious Sydenham college in Mumbai.

The beautiful actress began her filmy journey in the year 1986 with the film 'Sultanat' which was directed by Mukul Anand. Then she appeared in one Kannada film also. She came into limelight by the film 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' by Mansoor Khan in 1988 with Aamir Khan. In this film, Juhi played the lead role.The film was a big hit at the box office and Juhi got a lot of critical acclaim for her performance. She was nominated for the Filmfare's best actress award. She again got the same nomination for her performance in the film 'Pratibandh'. Her next was 'Bol Radha Bol' which was a box office hit.

In the next year Juni appeared in the film 'Lootere','Aaina','Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke','Darr' etc. All these films performed well at the box office. The film 'Darr' gave Juhi much appreciation and recognition. In 1997, Juhi acted in following films 'Ishq','Yes Boss' and 'Deewana Mastana'. Juhi's pair with Aamir Khan was considered as a hit pair. Their chemistry on screen was just perfect. She did many films with Shah Rukh Khan too. The pair appeared in the following films 'Duplicate','Darr','Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman' ,'Yes Boss' and 'Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani'.

In the last decade Juhi appeared in the films like '7 Half Phere','My brother Nikhil','3 Deewarein'. These were the art films and Juhi's outstanding performance in these films was appreciated.

In the next years she was seen in many films like 'Salaam-E-Ishq', 'Bas Ek Pal','Swami', 'BHOOTHNATH' ,'Krazzy 4'. She did a cameo in Zoya Akhtar's 'Luck By Chance'. Other than Hindi films, Juhi has appeared in several Punjabi, Kannada and Malayalam films too.

Her recent release is the film 'I am' by Onir. For this film Juhi has got the best actress award and excellence award. Juhi has appeared in many television commercials and television programs. She has hosted some award ceremonies too. Juhi was seen judging one dance reality show named as 'Jhalak Dikhla Ja'. Other than acting in the films, Juhi also produced two films under the banner of 'Dreamz Unlimited'. The banner has produced two three films 'Asoka','Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani'and 'Chalte Chalte'. Out of which only 'Chalte Chalte' was a major hit.

Recently Juhi was seen doing supporting roles in the film 'Son of Sardaar' and 'Main Krishna Hoon'. Currently she is busy with her two projects 'Chashme Baddoor' and 'Gulab Gang'.
