Prachi Desai has been signed by Balaji Motion Pictures Ltd to play former Indian cricket team captain Azaruddin's first wife Naureen in his biopic.
Confirming the news, the actress said that this will be the second time that she will be playing young and innocent Muslim character. Naureen's simplicity has appealed her most to take up the role, as despite being a cricketing star's wife she was never in limelight.
The much-anticipated biopic won't just highlight Azaruddin's professional life, but will provide a deep insight of his personal life, too, where he got married twice in his lifetime. His first marriage was with Naureen in 1987. In their nine-years of marriage, he became father of two- Asad and Ayaz. In 1996, he divorced her to marry actress Sangeeta Bijlani .
Emraan Hashmi has been confirmed for Azaruddin's role, while Kareena Kapoor might play sizzling Sangeeta on screen.
