The Story
Atif Aslam is Pakistani pop singer born on March 12, 1983 in Wazirabad, Punjab, Pakistan. He is the rare combination of talent, courage, style, charismatic personality and passion. His popularity has crossed the boundary of his nation and bound him to rule all over the world with his gifted voice.
Taking a short recap on his early life, Atif was born in Muslim family of Wazirabad with the name of Muhammad Atif Aslam. He completed his education in the cities of Lahore and Rawalpindi. While he was growing up, he always aimed of becoming a cricketer and to represent his country someday. His passion for the game was evident right in his early age, when he participated in fancy dress competition by adorning in cricketer Imran Khan's character. He was selected to represent Pakistan at Under-19 Cricket World Cup because of his exceptional bowling skills. But destiny had planned something else for him.
During his college days, Atif's friends encouraged him to sing and made him participate in college functions. It was in a spur, he recorded his first song "Aadat" with his pocket money and in no time he struck instant fame with it. After he completed his graduation in Bachelors of Computer Science from University of Central Punjab, he went on performing McDonalds, Uncle Rubba's Rabba Dhabba and other restaurants with the popular guitarist Goher. Later, they both collaborated to form Jal music band. But due to some conflict, Atif walked out of the band and released his solo album "Jal Pari".
"Jal Pari" songs were soulful and opened a new way for Atif and then there was no looking back. Vishesh Films gave him entry in Bollywood with chartbuster songs "Woh Lamhe" and "Aadat" from their films 'Zeher' and 'Kalyug' respectively. Further he went on voicing popular tracks like "Tere Bin" from 'Bas Ek Pal', "Pehli Nazar Mein" from 'Race', "Tera Hone Laga Hoon" and "Tu Jaane Na" from 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani', "Le Ja Tu Mujhe" from 'Faltu', "Piya O Re Piya" from 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya', "Main Rang Sharbatoan Ka" from 'Phata Poster Nikhla Hero', "Tera Naam Doon" from 'Entertainment' and now he has many more projects in the Hindi Film Industry. Also, he marked his debut as an actor with a Pakistani film 'Bol'.
Atif has teamed up with number of renowned singers like Kailash Kher, Richa Sharma, Shreya Ghoshal, Shalmali Kholgade and Amanat Ali for the world tour concerts and therefore he owes large fan following around the world. Also, he holds the record of singing for Hollywood films like 'Man Push Cart' and Mira Nair's 'The Reluctant Fundamentalist'. With these all works he has taken his country's name to the peak and in return, Pakistan has honoured him with the fourth highest civilian award- Tamgha-E-Imtiaz.
On the personal front, Atif got married to his longtime girlfriend Sara Bharwana in the year 2013.
