This movie revolves around the relationship between four young people, Kabir Thapar aka Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor), Naina (Deepika Padukone), Avi (Aditya Roy Kapur) and Aditi (Kalki Koechlin). These youngsters stand at different, however at the defining times in their respective lives. Bunny, Avi and Aditi decide to go on an adventurous trek to mountains of Manali. Naina joins them afterwards. Naina is the one, who experiences such thrilling things for the very first time in her life. She starts advancing the association with Bunny in this trip, which transforms Naina into an entire different persona. Also she starts liking him gradually. Then, all of them come to know about scholarship received by Bunny for journalism course and hence, he shifts abroad. After this, all four friends go by their own ways. After a long hiatus of eight years, they meet again on the wedding of Aditi. They meet with some fulfilled along with some unfulfilled dreams. Multiple decisions wait for them to turn their life in specific direction. The movie starts spinning from this moment.

This film reveals the diverse elements in their lives, such as a dearth of full of life experience, being unknown about what lies at the end of the other side of the life and searching for some dark moments in the bright day light.

In a nutshell, it is a cocktail of the obsessions and encounters of these youngsters.
