Zarine Khan

Known for being look-alike of Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif, Zarine Khan is an Indian actress and model. She is the star of two planets named as Bollywood and Kollywood. Zarine is from Mumbai and is born and brought up in a Muslim Pathan household. The actress is fluent in speaking Hindi, Urdu, English and Marathi. The pretty actress was born on 14 May 1984.

Zarine roped in Bollywood by debuting in a movie named as 'Veer' by Vijay Galani. In this movie, heartthrob Salman Khan was her co-star. Zarine played a sweet 19th century princess 'Yashodhara' in the film. In order to play this role more convincingly, the actress put on eight kilos of weight. For this role, Zarine got a nomination as Best Female Debut by Zee Cine Awards though the film did not perform too well on box-office. 'Housefull 2', a comedy-flick, was her second movie, which rocked on the box-office. Post the success of 'Housefull 2', she started receiving offers from big budget movies. Khan performed an item number in the blockbuster 'Ready' called as 'Character Dheela Hai'. The song turned out to be a huge hit and helped Zarine to get recognition from the audience.

Zarine Khan was aspired to be a doctor. But, destiny had something different on its mind for Zarine. It was Salman Khan, who noticed Zarine Khan on the sets of 'Yuvraaj' and thought of casting her for 'Veer'. After a formal screen test, Zarine Khan bagged the role for her first film. So, it can be said that Salman Khan happened to be a Godfather for Zarine! The brilliant beauty will be acting in two Tamil films as well, named as, 'Naan Rajavaga Pogiren' and 'Karikalan'. In 'Naan Rajavaga Pogiren', the actress is performing an item number. Talking about modeling, the actress walked the ramp for 'YS18', a jewellery brand at India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) in 2012. Zarine was the Showstopper for it.

There is a fact about the actress, which a very few of us know. Zarine Khan weighed around 100 kgs, when she was a college student. Though she didn't have any intentions of going in films naturally due to her weight, Zarine was trying hard to get into shape. Sweet food became her enemy in those days and she began to visit the gym.

Reportedly, Zarine is learning Ballet dance from a French Ballet expert in her upcoming film. Very soon, the audience will get to see a ballerina hidden in Zarine Khan.
